From our hearth to yours, the team over at Fire & Oak Dispensary hope you find yourselves warm and cozy as the temperature drops lower, and we continue to inch ever closer to the holiday season. We’d like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to each of you as our valued customers and neighbors. Just this past week, we were blessed with a front row seat to the annual parade and tree lighting as it proceeded down High Street and ended at the corner of High and Washington. It was truly a spectacle to behold.

Getting to witness such a festive and spirited act of community brought joy to the entire staff that night, and in an effort to keep the spirit of the season going strong, there are a few things happening either in or around town that we’d like to highlight.

1. Shopping and Dining In Downtown Mt. Holly

Many of the local small businesses and boutique shops located right at the heart of town become an excellent spot to source out that elusive last present or get your fill of holiday cheer. As the decorations go up and the lights come on, downtown Mt. Holly transforms itself into a festive haven for holiday shoppers and sightseers alike, with local tours of the best holiday lights popping up throughout the month. When you shop in Mt. Holly, make sure to stop by and visit the team at your favorite Mt. Holly dispensary, Fire and Oak. We support shopping local, by offering a 10% discount, with proof of purchase for $20+ from any business in town.

2. A Solstice Nature Walk At the Long Bridge Park

Towards the end of the month, Long Bridge Park will be holding a winter solstice event where they welcome you to join their Park Naturist on a nice and easy walk to prepare for the end of fall and the beginning of winter. The event is free and all ages are welcome, but registration is required. If a walk through nature during the changing of the seasons sounds like your cup of tea, bundle up and remember that cameras and binoculars are greatly encouraged.

3. The Library Has So Much To Offer

Throughout the month of December, the Burlington County Library System plans to host quite a few events and workshops geared toward getting you in the holiday spirit. Starting off this weekend they have a gingerbread crafting seminar on the 13th, and a cultural festival/craft fair and live concert on the 14th. As the month goes on we can expect to see a New Year’s card workshop, multiple gingerbread themed events, and a candle crafting kit grab-and-go to name a few. For a full look at everything they have going on this month, look here, and make sure you reserve yourself a spot now for the busier events.

4. Winter Fest 2024

Another local favorite returns Saturday the 14th to delight and enchant us once more. Located in the historic and beautiful Smithville Park, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this weekend as this year’s Winter Fest will go from 1-6 p.m. They plan to host a wide array of events that are laid out on this festive time table which doubles as a map.

5. Some Of Our Local Friends

There are also some awesome events happening over the next few days right here in town that we can’t forget to mention. The Robin’s Nest, a town staple and brunch go to, will be hosting a Paint & Sip event that includes dinner, one glass of wine, and a painting class; taking place December 12th from 6-8:30 p.m. Then on Saturday the 14th, our friends over at Colonial Cafe will be hosting a Grinch Photo Op & Food Drive going on from 1-3 p.m. The food drive paired with the toy drive that we hosted at Fire and Oak benefits those in need during this holiday season.

We’d like to thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of our journey and welcoming us with open arms. Your support, enthusiasm, and connection mean the world to us here at Fire & Oak, we truly couldn’t have done it without each of you. Over the course of the past year since our opening, we’ve gotten the chance to share so many special moments within this community, and we can’t wait for what comes next. Wishing you warmth, joy, and all the things that bring you happiness in the weeks ahead. Thank you so much for being with us every step of the way, it’s you that we are most grateful for.
